Kate Hudson: Pole dancing really changed my body

Kate Hudson has revealed her favourite form of exercise – pole dancing.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the actress hailed the raunchy workouts for her curvy-yet-toned figure.

Kate said that she was unsure about the idea at first, but that her dancer friend persuaded her to give it a go.

"So we went to this pole-dancing class and that was it. I was hooked," the 29-year-old told the newspaper.

She went on to say that the exercise has changed her body "drastically" and that she has never been stronger.

The star mentioned that, before her career as an actress kicked off, she was a keen footballer.

As well as pole dancing, Kate said she stays slim by canoeing, hiking, scuba-diving and cycling along with eating a diet that is low in carbohydrates but high in protein.

Last month, researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health revealed that cycling and brisk walks are particularly good at preventing weight gain in pre-menopausal women who are overweight and obese.

    Pole dancing is a great way to tone your body!! I would love to start but I’m not to sure where to find classes

    I’ve always wanted to do pole dancing to tone my body, I also do circus skills that include Silks and Trapeze which is great for my upper body and core muscles!

    Always fancied something like this but I really dont think I would have the pyhsical strength to do it. Classes were in my area recently- thought about it, but they were at the wrong times for work and they arent cheap either.

    This sounds like a really good way of keeping in shape, I’m not sure whether i would be any good though, however i did try dancing round the poles when i was on a night out with my mates in one of the bars and it was fun. I might have to have a look and see if there are any classes in my area. Kate looks fabulous!

    pole dancing sounds like a good way to get fit, but I don’t think its my cup of tea. I don’t think I would be able to do the moves!

    i agree with lucy, it sounds like a really great way to keep fit. i don’t know of any pole dancing classes in the midlands, i mite have to check them out.

    This is a great idea of keeping fit. I would jump to the chance of pole dancing. Is there anywhere in Newcastle that does Pole Dancing Classes?

    i would love to do pole dancing! i have heard all about it being great exercise, however i do not think my family or boyfriend would take to it too well.
