Drinking water ‘helps achieve weight loss’

People struggling to achieve their weight loss goals should try drinking more water, one commentator has suggested.

Keeping the body hydrated during exercise and dieting is important for those attempting to lose weight, Jason Ramstey wrote in a piece for website topnews.us.

“Water not only helps maintain your body temperature and burns your calories, but it also keeps you from over-eating,” he wrote.

Mr Ramstey explained that a majority of people mistake thirst for hunger, “which makes them catch a burger instead of a glass of water”.

Back in February, a report was published by the British Nutrition Foundation advising people to drink around 1.2 litres of fluid a day, which is equivalent to between six and eight glasses.

Mr Ramstey, however, suggested that such recommendations are incorrect, as the amount of liquid required varies from person to person, depending on their height and weight and the amount of exercise they do.

    well i have been drinking quite alot of water and i have lost over a long perioud of time over 1 stone i recamend that anybody that is trying to loose weight that they do the water diet thank and goodbye 😀

    I dont really drink much water im a more of a fizzy drink person! but i will try and start to drink more water as it is healthier and the fizzy drinks will not be doing my teeth any good 🙁 i might even try that volic water challenge and see how i get on 🙂

    I used to not like drinking water and always drink pop but now i’ve cut all fizzy drinks from my diet and drink plenty of water. I found that I was feeling less bloated and my skin feels much better, I also lost weight once I started drinking water.

    i drink quite a lot of water. and i find when i drink it with my dinner/tea it makes me feel quite full, so i actually leave half of my dinner/tea, which is good because im trying to lose a bit of weight and this helps me out along with me doing my exercises each day.
