Cousins spur each other on to weight loss success
Two cousins have demonstrated how it is possible to lose weight through the support of someone close who is trying to do the same thing – in this case a family member.
Gemma Baldwin and Jodie Dyer have together lost more than ten stone since embarking on a weight loss regime in 2010 and told Wales Online that the secret to their success was having somebody close by to spur them on – as well as a bit of friendly completion.
Mrs Baldwin explained that she wore a size 22 dress on her wedding day in 2009 and admitted that settling down with her boyfriend and later her husband had made her less active, while Ms Dyer realised that 14st 13b was not a health weight for somebody with a 5ft 2in frame.
After two years of eating sensibly and being more active, the pair have shed 5st each and revealed that the weight loss has also made their jobs far easier, as Mrs Baldwin is a nurse and Ms Dyer has a position at a children's play centre.
"Evans used to be the only shop I could fit in before, but now I can get clothes in any shop and I love it. When I’m in town I'm looking at everything," Ms Dyer told the publication.
Mrs Baldwin added: "My husband David tells me every day how proud he is, he's been my rock. Jodie and I walk for miles now."
