Low Fat Recipes: Strawberry Ice Cream

*Serves 6. Preparation time 5 minutes. Freezing time 1 hour.*

Ingredients:

Ice cream cones *optional*

500g of carton fresh chilled vanilla custard

340g of jar strawberry preserve/conserve

 

Low fat recipes are suitable for the whole family.

 

Method:

  1. Pour the strawberry preserve into a bowl
  2. Beat until it is runny
  3. Next beat in the custard
  4. Pour the mixture into a suitable freezer container
  5. Place the container into the freezer
  6. Make sure you beat it regularly so that it freezes evenly (this gives a smooth texture)
  7. Once frozen, the ice cream should be soft enough to scoop straight from the freezer into ice cream cones
  8. Add a chocolate flake or some ‘monkeys blood’ for an extra treat! *optional*
