Will Beaming be the next big thing in exercise?
People up and down the country could soon be looking towards Beaming to help them with their slimming regimes.
This is according to trainer David Mesirow, who told the Daily Mail the exercise has been a big hit in the US and is now over here.
It involves balancing on a foam-covered beam that is just a few inches off the floor and combines moves from yoga and Pilates with those seen in the balance beam section on gymnastics routines.
As a result, Mr Mesirow claims it works wonders on the core muscles, improves balance and tones the legs.
He also points out that it is good for emotional wellbeing because it forces participants to concentrate on not falling off the beam rather than on their typical worries.
Last month, Dr Paul Batman from the Fitness Institute of Australia told the Sydney Morning Herald that exercise does not have to be high-intensity all the time in order to offer benefits and result in weight loss.
Are you going to try Beaming if it crops up near you?
