Vary running training for weight loss
One of the most important things when trying to lose weight through running is to vary the training, according to one expert.
Charlene Hutsebaut, exercise expert for The De-Stress diet and founder of charlenehutsebaut.com, also said that a good tip for running training, whether it is for a 5k, 10k, half- or full-marathon is to do one interval training session as well as a short and a long run in a week.
She noted that this advice will work best for shorter distances, although it can be applied to longer runs, with more sessions each week.
Furthermore, runners should also make sure they get enough rest, recommends the expert.
"Rest days are extremely important for injury prevention along with some strength training, specific core work (pilates or yoga moves) and stretch sessions mixed in too," she said.
These rest days can be mixed in with the interval training day, as well as being thrown in one to two times each week for a half hour.
