TOWIEs Lydia Bright: ‘I binge in the evenings’

Many of us eat our biggest meal of the day in the evening, then find ourselves spending the rest of the night sitting on the sofa glued to the television screen, this is certainly something we wouldn’t recommend doing whilst trying to lose weight.  But if you consume most of your calories at lunchtime, there’s less chance of them being converted into fat, as your body has more time to burn them off.  TOWIE’s Lydia Bright, who’s 5ft 6, went from 9st 3lbs and a size 10 to 8st 5lb and a size 8 by making lunch a carb-packed main meal.  She also had a smaller dinner and upped her exercise routine.

The reality star, 21, who’s mum Debbie, 50, is half Italian typically enjoys poached eggs and baked beans on toast for breakfast, a carb-tastic plateful of spaghetti Bolognese or pasta salad for lunch, then dinner is a smaller meal of tomato soup with meatballs.  In a bid to tone up her already slimline figure, Lydia starred in fitness DVD The Only Way Is Essex: The Essexercise Workout with TOWIE co-stars Sam and Billie Faiers last year.

She’s since kept up her weight loss by recently taking part in the Rajasthan Tiger Challenge charity bike ride in India, alongside Denise Van Outen.  Lydia reveals:  “I was never really big, but being on TOWIE made me want to shape up a bit more.  I love being a size 8 , but I don’t want to lose any more weight.  I think girls look much better with curves – just look at Kelly Brook and Beyoncé!”

Lydia’s typical daily meal plan:

Breakfast:

  • 2 poached eggs and baked beans on toast

Lunch:

  • Spaghetti Bolognese

Veggie option:

  • Penne pasta salad with prawns, avocado and tomato

Dinner:

  • Tomato soup with meatballs

Veggie option:

  • Bean soup with curly kale

Snack:

  • Grilled chicken with brown rice
