Theme park shame leads to 5st weight loss
A trip to a theme park proved to be the motivation for a woman from Wales to lose five stone and turn her life around.
Elaine Francis, from Codeley, used to be a size 18 and struggled with her weight for many years, but the turning point finally came when she visited West Wales' Oakwood theme park, Wales Online reports.
After more than an hour of queuing, Elaine found out that she was too large to fit on the ride, and said the shame of the incident spurred her to do something about her size.
She then embarked on a fitness regime that involved plenty of exercise and a reduction in the number of calories she was consuming, which led to her shedding five stone in just ten months.
Though summer is a time when many people put on weight thanks to barbeques, picnics and other outdoor parties, Elaine says it is easy to keep the weigh off.
She told the newspaper: "You don't have to miss out on having fun, because with just a few small changes to the way you shop, cook and eat you can rise to the challenge and have a great summer too."
