The 7 Day Fat Burning Soup Diet

The Fat Burning Soup Recipe

6 large green onions or large red onion
1-2 cans of tomatoes
1 large head of cabbage
2 green peppers
1 bunch celery
rosemary & tarragon for flavoring
shitake mushrooms for flavoring
1 hot pepper
2 or 3 cloves of chopped garlic
vegetable bouillon

Cut vegetables in small to medium pieces, sauté in and cover with water. Boil fast for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. Spices, such as rosemary, sage, thyme, tarragon or oregano, may be added as desired toward the end of cooking.

This soup can be eaten any time you are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat, the more you will lose. Fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day. However, if eaten alone for indefinite periods, you would suffer from malnutrition.

The Fat Burning Diet

  • Day One: All fruits except bananas. Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower on calories than most fruits. Eat only the soup and fruits. For drinks – unsweetened tea, cranberry juice or water.
  • Day Two: All vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed with all the fresh, raw or canned vegetables. Try to eat green, leafy vegetables and stay away from dry limns peas, and corn. Eat along with the soup. At dinnertime on day two, reward yourself with a big baked potato and butter. Do not eat any fruits.
  • Day Three: Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want. Do not have a baked potato.If you have eaten for three days, as above, and have not cheated, you will find you should have lost 5 – 7 lb.
  • Day Four: Bananas and skimmed milk. Eat as many as 3 bananas and drink as many glasses of water as you can on this day along with the soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates along with the milk, but on this particular day your body will need the potassium, carbohydrates, proteins and calcium to lessen your cravings for sweets.
  • Day Five: Beef and tomatoes. You may have 10-20 ounces of beef and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water on day five to wash away the uric acid in your body. Eat the soup at least once on day five.
  • Day Six: Beef and vegetables. Eat to your heart’s content of the beef and vegetables on day six. You can even have two or three steaks if you like with green leafy vegetables, but no baked potato. Be sure to eat the soup at least once.
  • Day Seven: Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and vegetables. Again, stuff yourself and be sure to have the soup at least once.  

By the end of the seventh day, if you haven’t cheated on the diet, you should’ve lost 10-17lbs. If you’ve lost more than 15lbs, stay off the diet for two full days before resuming the diet again from day one.

If correctly followed, it will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being like never before. After only seven days, you should feel lighter and have an abundance of energy. This diet is for fast fat burning, and the secret is that you’ll burn more calories than you realise. Because everyone’s digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently.

Remember

DO NOT drink any alcoholic beverages. This is due to the removal of the fat build-up in the system. Go off diet at least 24 hours before any intake of alcohol.

DO NOT consume any carbonated drinks (including diet drinks). Stick with water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, unsweetened fruit juices, cranberry juice, or skimmed milk.

DO NOT eat any bread or fried foods

Although you can have black coffee with this diet, you may find that you don’t need the caffeine after the third day.

You can eat grilled or baked chicken (with no skin) instead of the beef. You can also substitute grilled fish for the beef on ONE of the days. You’ll need the high-protein in the meat on the other days.

    Green onions and scallions are just immature onions that are pulled from the ground before a prominent bulb has formed and their tops are still green. Scallions are considered younger than a green onion because they should not have a bulb, while green onions should have a miniature bulb. Both the bulb and bright green tops are edible, and are sold in bunches. Recipes will call for using either just the white part, or both the white and green part of the green onion or scallion. Generally, the white part is cooked, and the green part is used as a garnish or in cold preparations. In a pinch you can substitute the green part for chives.

    I have done the fat burning soup diet twice. I weighed in at 278 pounds before beginning. After the soup diet, and altering my overall eating habits following the diet, I now weigh 246 pounds, and still reducing. I went from a 46 waist down to a 42. I started in April, 2007, so it has been only 2 months. I have more energy, and feel great! Just had my annual medical, and everything is good! I highly recommend it!!!

    I hav done this diet before and lost 8 pounds on it. i thought i’d try it again- I am now at day 5, having cheated once!! ‘ll weigh myself on Monday to see what the results are. I hope i’ve lost some weight after eating so much of the soup!!! I odnt like celery either but once in the soup and put through the blender you cant taste it!! good luck to anyone trying it!!

    i think you are confusing the green of peppers with onions. i have made my big pan of this lushus fat burning soup and cant wait!i had it for breckfast, and by mid morning was already experiencing the noxious fumes of the cabbage.sorry to tell you.lots of gas!
    will tell you the results after day 7.my sister in law has lost 5lbs after 4 days!

    my mum had great sucess on this diet and lost 9lbs in a week i know she uses all the ingredients in this recipes, normal onions and adds spices to zest it up a bit. i have to say that you cant really taste any of the individual ingredients just a medley i thought it tasted of carrots!!! bit odd as there not in there

    I lost 8 lbs on this diet. But why don’t they give you any guidance about breakfast?? It’s particularly hard to know what to do on the day when you can’t eat any fruit?? Did anyone else try having cereal or something other than soup!! I guess grilled tomatoes would be ok but a bit odd on their own! I just had grapefruit or something – even on the no fruit day!

    What i dont know about dieting i could fit on the back of a postage stamp, just thought this was another fad, even my doctor hasn’t recommended this diet – i cant believe i’ve lost 5lbs already in just 3 days, oh my god!!! i have about 6 stone to lose so maybe the dress i bought for last xmas (to diet into) may fit me this year instead – woo hoo!!

    Eat the soup for breakfast. Being ‘attached’ to eating only specific foods for breakfast is an attachment (habit?) one can do without! The soup has plenty of great nourishment all by itself. Blend it into a creamy mixture and pretend it is cereal if you must.

    hey peeps well a friend has given me the recipe and it doesn’t contain cabbage head but contains 2ib carrot
    and also states just 3 large onions !!!
    what do i do ?? will it really matter

    plus i am vegetarian and on the day you have beef it’s ok suggesting aduki beans , do i eat them on on there own..ewwww

    can i not replace it with a quorn burger , plain quorn chicken style fillet

    My hubby and I decided to give this diet a try. On day four, he has lost 9 pounds, and I only four. Food is not available at his work. I am a housewife and grandmother raising an elementary age child; therefore, my kitchen is too handy. I did better the first two days because I was out of the house getting items for an upcoming camp trip. We both are in our fifties and do not have an exercise plan. Our problem was needing a list of “vegetables”. He says a baked sweet potato would not count on an all veggie day. I think it would be okay as long as it is sweet potato and not a white potato.
    Any input on this. Thanks

    well its day 5 past 2 days been hard i don’t drink milk and don’t eat meat!! had quorn fillets plain on there own instead ,, stuff it!
    i weighed self today i have lost between 5-7 pounds in 5 days .. bit unsure of reading as didn’t weigh when started but new my weight before..just gave 2 pound just n case I’d put on before;)
    its sat tomorrow that’s the hardest time.. but I’m 5 days in if i give up now ill be so angry with myself..day 4-5 are hard if you are a veggie

    not sureif replacing the beef with quorn fillets will affect weight loss but will let you fellow veggies know :)

    sunday is the full 7 days complete!!

    i have decided to have Monday as a bad day and eat what i have been craving , then start the diet again Tuesday !!!

    i just have to add this is the recipe i was given slightly diff then above , how ever menus for day to day were exactly the same!!

    3 lrge onions
    1 green peppers
    1 bunch celery
    1 can green beans
    1 can beef broth ( i didnt use)
    2 pounds of carrots
    1 packet of low calorie dry veg/onion soup ( mix with 1 pint water)

    add half pint water

    i added garlic

    i have lost weight on this recipe almost the same as above minus the cabbage, my fridge dosne’t smell and when blended actually taste a lil like a mediteranian tomato soup

    hope this helps anyone ekse who hated the smell of the cabbage one!!

    I have started the diet today. It is now 11.35 am – feel a headache coming on and feel very tired – has anyone else felt like this. I have a gym orientation tonight at 8pm – don’t really know if I can face it! Would much rather go for a nice swim. I don’t know what I’m going to do about the day of bananas and skimmed milk as I’m lactose intolerant – I might just risk it for one day as I’ll probably be starving! My friend told me about this diet – she did it for 8 weeks and went from 12 stone to 8! I don’t know if I could keep it up that long – I may do a week on and a week off. Any hints or tips will be welcome.

    Forgot to say – when I made the soup I added a chopped red chilli and some basil (fresh) and 2 garlic cloves – it gave it a bit of ‘zing’. Tastes really good – my husband even liked it.

    For those of you who cannot drink milk, I am taking calcium tablets everyday, so I have no need for the milk. Also note that most veg & fruit have potassium. Speak to your pharmacy, about potassium supplements, if you cannot eat bananas. I have not felt this well in years with this 7 day diet. If the diet gets you down after two or three days, cheat and have a salad that evening with a very lean streak, or skinless chicken. than go back to the diet the next day. It has worked for others that I know on this diet.

    I am now on day 2, I feel fine. Last night Ifelt verv tired. I also used carrots instead of cabbage. I love the soup, I added chilli to it. I must say the banana and milk day is going to be interesting because I dont like milk and bananas. I am determined to go through with it I need to loose atleast 10pounds.

    Just finished my week – I had lost 7lbs by day 5 and at the end of day 7 I was still stuck at the half stone mark but this doesn’t surprise me as no matter what diet I follow I never lose weight – I find I have to get active to shift it. However saying that I am pleased with half a stone and I’m going to eat ‘normal’ foods this week (although no bread,ptoatoes,etc) and go back on it again next week. I’ll try it week about to see if it might boost my metabolism. I can honestly say I have lost my cravings for bread, sweets, etc – it was like a detoxifier! I have noticed an improvement in my skin as well!

    I have done this diet before with a s lightly different recipe.

    The one i found used Shitake mushrooms and dried seaweed (as has cleansing stuff in it) and i lost heaps.

    It also contained garklic which helped with the taste!!

    hi, i have done the diet in the past and lost 19 pounds in 2 weeks with a couple days break in between, which is fantastic considering i cant stick to diets! bad thing is i put the weight all back on within a few weeks of ‘normal’ eating! i am starting the diet again tomorro and with moderate exercise and some weights i hope to lose around 28 pounds by march 9th to fit into my LBD for my birthday!!! good luck my head is telling me! :)

    I thought having headaches was just a problem I had, but I noticed that many of you are complaining of headaches as well. My thoughts are that there is such a drastic drop in the amount of calories from eating what I wanted to eating what is required on this diet that my body is just trying to adjust. I think everyone probably already knew that but I had to say it anyway. I’m starteing the diet on Sunday. and I’m so excited, I have had nothing but great results on this diet and it’s healthy. I finally found a way of eating that I can deal with. As I do this diet over and over I get very creative with the vegatable day. I sautee yellow, red, and orange bell peppers together because they taste sweet , its really a pick me up. I just use a non-stick spray and dump my veggies in the pan. It’s sooooooo good. I love this diet and I know I will lose a significant amount of weight!

    One more thing, and I will try not to make any typos :) The baked potato is so important!! It helps you get through the day. Vegetable day is kind of hard but the results are worth it. The potato does not have to be for dinner, have it earlier in the day if that helps get you through.

    Does anyone know if kindey beans count as a veggie? I’ve done this before and lost 8 pounds. My hubby lost 11 pounds. I found it also sort of reset my taste buds. I found that after this diet, other simple yet healthy foods never tasted so good. It made it easier to stick to a healthier lifestyle of eating. Anyhow…I thought this time kidney beans would be a little more filling on veggie day. Any thoughts?

    I cannot do this diet for 7 days. I only do it a couple of days once on a while and I lose 2 to 3 lbs. I keep them down with exercise. I find it easier to do it little by little but keeping the weight off.

    On day 5 of diet and lost approx. 5llb, found it really hard to begin with, even seeing a salad sandwich made my mouth water. However, stuck with it so far. I don’t like bananas so I liquidised them with the skimmed milk into a drink and found I quite enjoyed them. On the veg only days, I juiced carrots into a drink for breakfast and found this quite filling. Hope these tips can be of help and would welcome any one elses suggestions as I will probaby try again in a couple of weeks time.

    Hey everybody, i am starting this diet tomorrow, but i cant seem to find a shop that sells onion soup mix? so iv made it without is that allowed? just made a veg stock. and also i could i use chopped tomatoes instead of canned ones ? please would some1 let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.i am currently 9st 10lbs(previously 10st 7 but dropped weight with going gym) and am hoping to get down to about 9st for my holidays in july. or somewhere around that mark. will keep u all posted and good luck to everybody starting this diet!!

    This diet sounds great!
    Although it’s slightly misnamed IMO. I prefer the name “initial water loss diet” as in the first 7 days of most diets you can expect to lose 5 – 10 pounds in bodily water, not fat unfortunately. Get a good, aerobic exercise & a SENSIBLE eating regime & generally smarten up!

    Hi there. I am now on Day 7 of this diet which I got from this website. I heard about all the weight lost and got inspired. I weighed on the morning of day 4 and had lost 6 lb so was feeling great. However, since then I have been sticking to the diet but don’t feel that my body is changing. I feel bloated and wobbly! I’ll be doing my final weigh tomorrow morning so here’s hoping. Anyone else feel that they lost the most in the first half of the week and then tailed off?
    I have been doing a few sit ups, but should I be doing more toning exercises?

    My wife started the diet regime on Monday the 4th of Aug and i joined her the next day. So far on day 3, she has lost 2kg and i 1kg. Its looking really good. I had a bout of headache earlier toady, but thanks to God that has now vanished. For all those still contemplating starting, i’ll say get cracking asap because its all in the mind. If you remember that people survived without food after being trapped under rubles in the China Earthquake after 7 days, you will be grateful to God for giving you good health and a sound mind to consciously embark on a diet programme.

    I started this diet today. So far it doesn’t seem to hard… I think it helps to just snack on the fruit all day, and use a variety of types of fruits (and veggies on the veggie day, etc.). I had a bunch of fruit for breakfast with some tea, a generous bowl of soup for lunch and have been eating handfuls of fruit whenever every hour or so, and I feel full! I’m going to try this out and hopefully kick start some weight loss, because my body has issues processing food, and so wieght has been an major issue for me. My aunt (who is a nurse) told me this is supposed to work chemically, so I’m hoping I will have some success! :)

    i just have to add this is the recipe i was given slightly diff then above , how ever menus for day to day were exactly the same!!

    3 lrge onions
    1 green peppers
    1 bunch celery
    1 can green beans (I USED FRESH)
    2 pounds of carrots
    1 packet of low calorie dry veg/onion soup (I USED OXO CUBES)

    cover the veg in water

    i added garlic

    So far, this diet is not as bad as I expected. I’m on day 4 and have lots almost 6 pounds! I came across a banana milk/smoothie recipe that is really good… and is good for the banana milk day!

    a cup of milk, banana, half teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a dash (or two) of cininamin (sp?)!

    I used two cups milk and 2 bananas for lunch… it’s filling and yummy! Also.. you may want to use frozen bananas, or leave the smoothie in the fridge for a while so it can get cold. and add as much vanilla or cinamin as you want.

    I have used beef soy from the frozen food section at Asda instead of beef. For the low calorie soup mix I’ve used packet soup, the 10 calorie one from Morrissons has an onion flavoured version.

    I did this diet last week, and YES it does work! I lost 4kg!! After a hedonistic couple of weeks drinking every night with my friend, gorging on chocolate etc, I REALLY needed a good detox!

    I used all the ingredients from the local fruit and veg market as above. Couldn’t find onion mix so just added Oxo Vegetable cubes instead. I seasoned my soup with a few dry herbs and on occasions I threw in some Curry Powder and other spices.

    The best thing to do is just make sure you’re not starving yourself, always eat the soup when hungry. Preparing to soup initially takes time, so make sure you’ve made enough the night before so when breakfast comes, you don’t have to wait!

    During the diet I felt a little lethargic at times, on the banana day I had so much energy though! I went for a big run and did lots of exercises later. The next day I was very weak though, so don’t overdo it on excercise! I drank soooo much water on this diet, it’s unbelievable!

    I had skinless chicken instead of beef. I ate 4 fillets on day 6!

    I loved the veg days, I steamed my vegetables to retain all the nutrients and goodness. You then just add these to the soup, so tasty!

    The morning of day 8 (END OF THE DIET!) was amazing, My breakfast of muesli with eggs on toast was like pure heaven. I’d missed all my normal foods! The end of the diet makes you appreciate good food! I have no craving for sweets now really, just the urge to get back into a normal, healthy balanced diet.

    You shouldn’t continue with this diet for more than one week. You do lack some important essential foods whilst doing this diet. It’s a one week “fix” to get you back on track, then just continue a healthy diet, but don’t overdo it!

    BAD POINTS ABOUT THE DIET:- You won’t have a sex life for a week. I smelt like a bad rotting cabbage ALL THE TIME. My breath was toxic and the gases that came out of my other end were revolting. My boyfriend hated it and wouldn’t go near me! Just shows that the detox is flushing everything out of your system!
    It’s also unsociable, I missed out on a few social meals, you’ll miss ordinary food like bread and eggs!

    But the good outweigh the bad, I’m 4kg lighter, have a lot of energy. It’s only 7 days of your life, something you can tick off your “to do” list! I’d recommend to anyone who has a week off and nothing to do. !!!

    Always knew it wasn’t a level playing field out there. After 3 days I had lost 3lbs – no cheating, wasn’t at all hungry. My friend had lost 6lbs, always hungry and had cheated. Maybe they will believe me now when I say my weight does not come from overeating.!

    How do you interpret the skimmed milk. Is this for the banana day only?

    This is as good as it gets.

    Try it, you have nothing to lose other than your belly fat.

    I lost 14 pounds within the soup period of seven days,
    and six weeks later I have reduced by a further 28 pounds.
    This was not difficult, I just stuck to the 7 day menu and relaxed the menu a little after this time.
    I would point out that I am not a large person.
    So to all you people, who are going to buy the veg and the fruit, get on with it as it will be the best investment you will ever make. GOOD LUCK.

    Hi all hope you all good………
    I encouraged a friend of my sons to have a crack at this diet 4 weeks ago.
    He started off at 21stone 3lbs, in 7 days he dropped to 19stone 1lb, quite a drop, so came off the diet for 2 days, using a mediteranean diet in this time, he put on 4lbs.
    Returned to the fat burning diet at 19stone 5lb, for a further 7 days, this time only lost 9lb, so down to 18stone 10lb.
    This time no rest, continued straight into a 3rd week losing a further 10lb, went back to the mediteranean diet, put 3lb back on so at 18stone 3lb going into the 4th week, havnt heard his achievements for this week yet but upto now he has done real good.

    Hi, my husband and I have been doing this diet and are now on day 5. My husband doesn’t like tomatoes. I have put them in the soup and as it is blended, he’s fine with it. Any suggestions as to what to do today when we need to eat beef and tomatoes? Can I add garlic, onions & peppers maybe to make a tomatoe sauce, do you think?
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I presume it is important to have to tomatoes as well as the beef!

    I’ve done this diet a few times. The best way to do it is to stick rigidly to the soup recipe and the 7 day plan. I’ve seen a few posts saying how they subbed this for that and cheated a bit and then are surprised that the diet didnt work. The soup in particular contains the right balance of veg that can instigate effective fat burning. adjusting the recipe adjusts the effect. stick to the diet and i can attest that you will lose at least 14 lbs. cheat and who knows. The diet is extremely difficult and you need to be in the right mindset. also, it makes exercising really hard after day 3 where your energy levels will be so low. it’s not for everyone and most females that have tried it, my wife, sister in law and mother in law have really struggled by day two-feeling dizzy etc.

    Im on the diet now. 4th day into it and your all right, ITS HARD. I am a fit athletic person and the first couple of days has may me feel less energetic than normal. However the pounds have stifted. What I have decided is to do 1 week on and 2 off so i can concentrate on fitness. Its does work if you stick to it. Bring on majorca in 7days! woop woop!

    Well am on day 5 now and hav to say I struggled first 2days. Followed ‘ray’s’ recipe for th soup and it really was awful! I hav since been told a different version and it is just sooo much nicer!
    1large onion
    4/6 carrots
    6 celery sticks (and leaves if there)
    1 large red/yellow pepper
    1/2 bunch fresh coriander
    Cumin/coriander/cayenne to taste
    Large head broccoli
    Juice of 1 lime
    Veg/chicken stock cube
    Water to cover.

    I just sweated onions in tiny bit of oil and went from there!

    Also on banana/milk day I made a smoothies for brek lunch and dinner; chop up banana into pieces the night before and freeze. Add 1/2 banana’s, 1/3 of a 2pint carton milk, ground cinnamon and vanilla essence to taste to a blender and whizz for about a min. Lovely frothy smoothies! I made ahead and took to work for lunch, lost it’s bubbles and turned a bit brown but was still pretty tasty!

    I weighed this morning and hav so far lost 5lbs which I’m happy with! Good luck guys!!

    That should say 1 1/2 banana’s to a smoothie! And there is also 140g bag of spinach in the soup. Chopped all veg into small chunks so no whizzy-stick needed!

    I started this diet yday.. Ideally would like to lose 1 & 1/2 stone before Christmas.. We will see! This is torture for me because I don’t like fruit or veg on their own.. And after a bowl of soup I’m gagging :( trying to retrain my gag reflex and hopefully by the end of the week I will be fine :) and a bit lighter lol.     on day 4 it is said for 3 bananas to be eaten, isn’t it too much. I really cannot eat 3 bananas a day.
    or on day 5, six tomatoes a day! isn’t is much? or it means shall i eat 3 bananas or 6 tomatoes at once in a day or i can divide it in a day?

    about canned tomatoes, do you mean those canned and conserved tomatoes at shops and supermarkets?

    how about salt and pepper, can i use them every day on my foods?

    and one thing: you said for example in day one, i can eat all fruits except banana and i can eat soup all the day, does it mean that whenever i am hungry in day one from morning to night i can eat any fruit and soup i wan as the instruction?

    Thank you for your questions and I will do as best as I can to help you.

    The diet states you should eat as many as 3 bananas on day 4, however if you cannot eat three, it is not a problem to eat 1 or 2. The diet states no more than 3 bananas should be eaten.

    On day five the diet states you should eat as many as 6 tomatoes, you can eat as many tomatoes as you like, but no more than 6. You should either have a tin of tomatoes with the beef or up to 6 fresh tomatoes.

    You should eat the bananas on day 4 and the tomatoes on day 5.

    You can add small amounts of salt and pepper to your foods if you require, but just in moderation.

    And on day 1 you can eat any fruit except banana’s and the soup throughout the day, whenever you feel hungry.

    We recommend that you try to follow the diet as closely as possible, without substituting if you can help it.

      The cumin powder is fine to use if it makes the soup edible for you.

      However there really is no substitution for the tomatoes, for day 5 (beef and tomatoes) we suggest following the same meal plan as day 6 (beef and vegetables.

    unfortunately I had to stop the diet as I became very faint and dizzy last night I’m not overly over weight and I think the fact I had no meat didn’t help due it’s ashame I was all for it and really motivated to do it but my body just coulnt cope with the detox and I work with up to 20 toddlers a day i dont think the diet if for people like me but I wish everyone else the best of luck :)

    Ok, for the purposes of this diet, can we count “salad” items that are green and leafy, such as lettuce and rocket, as “veg” Can fresh chillies be added to the soup for taste, are they allowed? Finally, do mushrooms count as veg? Thanks!

    The diet recommends you only use skimmed milk and no sweeteners. However if you do require semi-skimmed milk and artifical sweeteners, you may do so, but this would affect your weight loss results.

    hi, i have started the diet and have lost 2kgs on day 2 already the diet doesn’t give you much to eat i was wondering can you snack on raisins and nuts (variety).

    Also wanted to know on day 5 the beef and tomatoes if its canned can i make a stew with the to ingredients.

    is grilling the meat fine??

    2 cubes beef stock(i use veg stock)
    1.5kg carrots
    1 packet white onion soup
    1 large green pepper
    Spice with salt,pepper and parsley

    Please let me know if this recipe is fine as im from SA not sure if you guys are abroad o local.

    Hi there! I found this diet online & I’m going to start today! I have my Soup all ready to go with all my Fruits & Veggies for the next 3 days! I’m excited! I just have a few questions….First, I’m Allergic to Bananas…Is it possible to substitute Bananas for Coconut Water which has more Potassium than bananas?? Second, I’m Lactose Intolerant…Can I substitute Skimmed Milk for Almond Milk?? I appreciate any & all help!

    I followed this diet and it was very hard. The soup is not tasty at all and after a few days I was extremely sick of it. I did lose 3 kilos in 4 days but could not finish the diet as I was feeling very tired and unwell. And sadly I gained the weight back very fast.

    I have never really tried a diet before just tried to keep up regular exercise but the exercise has reduced recently due to busy schedule so I thought I’d give it a try, I have followed it strictly and within 2 days I was impressed with the results, I’m not saying it’s easy to follow but it definitely works, on day 5 now and afterwards I’ll keep up exercise and ease off the carbs. I would recommend this diet but stick to it after all it’s only 7 days.

    Hi! Very keen to follow this diet and see how it works

    Is it okay to drink green tea during the diet, assuming that I only add milk on the designated ‘milk day’?

    Also, do you have any suggestions on the meal plan? Should I be aiming to eat 5/6 small meals throughout the day, or stick to just a ‘standard’ 3 meals?
    On the fruit day, I ate fruit for breakfast and a morning snack and then the soup for lunch, evening snack and dinner with some fruit in between to keep myself from feeling hungry? Is that a good idea?

    I’m on day two and I didn’t mind the soup the first time but after having it twice yesterday and today I am finding it a little repulsive but once you eat a couple of mouthfuls you get used to it.     You can eat the soup hot or cold. It is entirely up to you if you wish to replace the beef with chicken however please be aware that your end result may not be the same as if you were using beef.

    If you have lost more than 15lbs stay off the diet for two full days before resuming the diet again from day one.     Hi! I’m on my 3rd day & am quite happy with the results. I have varied the soup after I read every page I could find on this diet. Living in Spain, we have wonderful fruits & vegetables. I have had salads w/ virgin olive oil ( a small amount) & lemon juice as a dressing. On day 3, spanish gazpacho is a great, filling drink, made w/ tomatoes & veggies. I also use a small amount of olive oil, just enough to just coat the pan & sautee my fresh or frozen veggies w/ some sliced garlic. Bay leaves are a wonderful way to add flavor to veggies & the soup also. I usually have a cold lettuce & veggie salad…canned artichokes, White asparagus, canned mushrooms, cucumbers etc, then the soup or a hot cooked veggie, makes it feel as if you are not only eating veggies… I have been drinking over 2 liters of wáter a day. This morning I measured myself…do not own a scale, I’m scared of them!…& have lost 3 cm on my bust, 4 on my waist & another 3 on my hips. I say that if you started this, chins up & finish it up! Every body & person is different but I do recommend up your wáter intake!

      Yes you can swap the green peppers for red peppers. The fruit juice would need to be fresh rather than squash. Please eat what is stated on specific days i.e meat days. You can take vitamins if you wish, this will not affect the diet in any way. We advise you only add the vegetables stated to the soup. You can season with pepper, garlic, chilli powder etc if you wish.

    Do I cook everything together or do I do it separately? I love my spices can I add spices to the soup?

      Either white or red onions are fine, please only add what is stated to the make the soup – 6 large onions, 2 green peppers (bell peppers), and 2 cans of tomatoes (diced).

      You can certainly season with spices of you wish and all can be cooked together : )

    Hi all I have been following the diet for nearly two weeks. Admittedly I have cheated on day 5 and then restarted the diet. Cheated means I have returned to a normal diet (for three days) and treated myself to a sugar in a coffee and a couple of pieces of chocolate. I have not got so much weight to lose, I am 86kg and my ideal target is 82kg, I started this diet when I weighed 90.8kg. However I have managed to lose over 4kg towards this target by following this diet, I admit I have not made a full week yet, but today was again my day one. I know my body and I have to say that I am even though this diet plan is not seriously tough, I do generally feel better, more alert, drinking virtually no coffee (even though you can) and I am losing weight. This is also combined with cardio and gym. That apart I would recommend anyone to try it. It is definately worth ago even if you are only looking to shed a few kg and not 15+ kg.
    Thank you for this advice and suggestion to help get the goals you want, it has helped me, and if I do manage to reach my target, even if it takes a little longer I will post it on here.

    Hi i have been on this diet for 7 days now and it works ! The first two days is the hardest and you may get a headache as i did but please persevere as after this you do not feel hungry and find it a lot easier. You use white onion with the soup but on a veg day it wouldnt matter i guess.You can eat frozen but fresh is best. I have added spices garlic currie powder to taste soup but on the thrid day got really bored with it so i made something that i enjoyed most. I put all my soup contents in a frying pan used a little fry light and a little water to slowly fry veg mix veg first then add tomatoes a little at a time and if perferred cut up a little of small tomatoes and add . do not add salt on any occasion and only green peppers. When veggies are cooked add some garlic powder small amount and curry or chilli powder italian herbs/pepper to taste to any of meat or veg mix. This is a substitue for the soup so it is the same ingredients.I have really enjoyed this diet and i have lost half a stone in a week.

      To make the soup u chop 6 large white onions and 2 green bell peppers in a pan of water until the onions and peppers are tender then u take the pan off the cooker and add 2 tins of chopped tomatoes the soup is ready . i stir in chilli powder to flavour as there is no taste to the soup i also blend the soup aswell .

    Just to let everyone know this is my secret for a couple years now. i started doing this initially to lose weight i was 19 stone and lost 17lb in a week, you tend to put some back on as your body keeps out a lot of the water and your bowel seems empty all the time, when you go back onto normal food you tend to put 3-5 lb back, i now do it for the health benefits, keeps your mind much more focused, you appreciate the things you can’t eat that we may have took for granted before like chicken and steak and eggs! such a great detox.
    I am big fan!
