The 1 Week Diet – The Egg Diet

The Egg Diet

Egg Diet

The basis of this diet is chemical, not quantities.

It claims you can lose a stone in a week if followed exactly.

Do not follow this diet for more than a week at a time.

Allowed drinks: Black coffee, black tea, lemon tea, fresh grapefruit juice, tonic water, soda water, (no more than 3 cups of these drinks daily). You can have unlimited amounts of still water daily. No sweeteners are allowed.

Salad consists of: Lettuce, tomato and celery only. No salad dressing or vinegar is allowed.

You may season your food with pepper and spices.

Special notes:

    • Refrain from all foods not included below
    • No substitutes allowed
    • Eat only what is shown or do without
    • No eating between meals
    • No alcoholic drinks, milk, butter, oil or fat

 

You can swap days around as long as you eat exactly what is shown.

 

Day 1

Breakfast:         1 slice of dry toast (wholemeal bread) and 1 large grilled tomato
Lunch:                Any amount of any fresh fruit
Dinner:               2 hard boiled eggs, salad and 1 grapefruit

Day 2

Breakfast:         1 grapefruit and 1 boiled egg
Lunch:                Roast chicken (any amount) and 2 large fresh tomatoes
Dinner:               1 small grilled steak and salad

Day 3

Breakfast:        1 grapefruit and 1 boiled egg
Lunch:               2 hard boiled eggs and salad
Dinner:              2 grilled lamb chops, celery and cucumber

Day 4

Breakfast:         1 slice of dry toast (wholemeal bread) and 2 poached eggs
Lunch:                Any amount of any fresh fruit
Dinner:               2 grilled lamb chops, celery and cucumber

Day 5

Breakfast:        1 slice of dry toast (wholemeal bread) and 2 poached eggs
Lunch:               2 poached eggs and 2 large fresh tomatoes
Dinner:              Fresh or tinned fish (in spring water) and salad

Day 6

Breakfast:        1 boiled egg and 1 glass of fresh grapefruit juice
Lunch:               Any amount of any fresh fruit
Dinner:             Roast chicken, carrots and cabbage

Day 7

Breakfast:       2 scrambled eggs and 1 large grilled tomato
Lunch:              2 poached eggs and spinach
Dinner:            1 small grilled steak and salad

    finished today i do 1 week on 1 week off this is my third week of doing diet down to 14st 1lb from 16st 2lb feeling great so in 5 weeks ive lost 2 stone this weeks loss 11 1/2 pound week of now

    Wow just read through this. Sounds fairly easy. I’m 11.2 at the moment and usually I’m 9.7 so I’ve put quite some weight on and I need it going!     Started this today (weighing in at 16st 4lbs) and I haven’t felt hungry at all.
    I’ve bought pink and red grapefruit – are these ok?
    I’ve also bought some pre-packed cooked chicken (not the wafer thin stuff but proper chicken). Are these ok too?
    Sorry for all the questions but I really want to get this as right as I possibly can!

    Yes you can cook a whole chicken with the skin on, then remove once cooked. We would always recommend fresh produce wherever possible as tinned items tend to contain a lot of additives. However the choice is up to you.

    Generally speaking the less weight you have to lose the slower it will come off. However this is not always the case.

    Can I have zero calorie sweetener in my tea and coffee whilst doing this? (some sites listing the exact same diet say ‘yes’ and some say ‘no’). This small thing would make all the difference to me being able to stick to this to be honest but if it messes up the chemical balance by having artificial sweetener I would try …. thanks

    This seems doable. I’ll try it, but will modify just a bit since I’m not in a big hurry to drop pounds. My problem is that I have to have oatmeal or something filling for breakfast, or I get hungry about 11:00 and blow the whole diet. Drinking lots of water helps too, as does having veggies chopped and ready in the
    refrigerator for times when you’re tempted to snack.

          sounds crazy but bear with me jade
          started at 16st after first week i was 14.13 stopped for 1 week put on 4lb so my my third week started at 15.4
          aqfter that week i was 14.6 just had a week off started again this morning at just under 14,13 this will be my third week of doing diet 1 week on 1 week of so i have lost 1stone and 1lb, i expect to put a couple of lbs on weeks of but at this rate after about 6 weeks i should be nearly 13 stone its about then im going to go back to the gym and start jogging again hope this made sense to you jade

    Wasn’t expecting weight loss today as I had to have the dinner from day 7 (steak was last date so had to be used!) with the lunch and dinner from day 4. I’d also drunk 5 cups of black coffee, so delighted that an extra 2lbs fell off today!

    i started 3 weeks ago first week lost 1 stone 1lb, second week was break4lb back on, third week back to diet went from 15s . 4lb to 14s.6lb now on break week starting again on tuesday hopefully get under the 14 stone mark, this diet does work, but also takes a lot of will power to stick to well worth it though

    Hi Frances, there is no set diet to stick to after the 7 days, why not try encorporating some of the foods/meals from the diet into your everyday eating plan?

    If you eat lots of sugary, dairy or high carb foods it is likely you will put the weight back on. I would advise you cut down on these foods and try to exercise a little, this should stabilse your weight.

    Hello i wish to start this week but have a few questions before I do. I can’t eat tomatoes do i just eat the egg by it’s self or do i need to eat them? And also if i don’t like a meal for a certain day can i swap it for a different day (example dinner on day 5 exchanging it for dinner from day 7)?       It is advised that if you do not like any of the foods listed to leave them out, swapping days around should be fine as long as you stick to the foods listed.

      Salt has a tendancy to slow down your metabolism therefore we wouldn’t recommend you use it. Cucumber on day one is in addition to the allowed salad items. Where ‘any amount’ is stated you can have any amount of any fruit.

    I did this diet for just 5 days, and with a couple of cheats. I started at 67.5kg (149lbs) and over the next few days lost a max of 1.4kg (3lbs) and just weighed myself this morning (8 days after starting) and am at 67kg so just 0.5kg (1lb) down in total.

    I did this diet with 3 others as well, 2 of which lost between 4-5kgs over 5 days as well.

    I myself still had a few alcoholic drinks, always milk in my tea & coffee, went out for a birthday dinner on the 3rd day, and had birthday cake on the 5th day! Definitely worked though while I stuck to it, but think it is easy to put it all back on again if you’re not careful. I would say that it’s made me think twice about snacking in between meals and eating too much junk/oily foods.

    Weighed myself on the morning of Day 3, 4lbs lost. Quite happy with that. Going to weigh myself tomorrow morning (Day 5) hoping for another 2lbs. Looking forward to Sunday but even more so to Monday when I plan to slowly incorporate healthy fun foods I.e. bulgur, quinoa ect. Also dropping out the red meat. Keep you updated!

    Day 2, Decided not to weigh myself until Day 3 incase I didn’t see any movement! :) Followed the diet down to a T so fingers crossed it working. Tip for those starting off, take advantage of the 3 cups of Grapefruit Juice allowed, one sip of this and the hunger pangs diminish! Question, is anyone working out whilst doing this?

Each time I do the diet I drop around 6/7lbs and it mostly stays off for a few months if I’m careful and keep some ingredients in my diet ie. Grapefruit /eggs…

    I actually don’t like egg so this is a desperate attempt to loose weight fast for my holiday as I broke my arm and haven’t been able to exercise and have been eating too much junk. now a 4 weeks until i fly I’m over 2 stone too heavy :( So starting this on Friday then having a week off and doing it again the following Friday. I am currently following a 900 calorie a day diet and will be doing that in the middle week. 34lb in 28 days?? can it be done??

    OK so a few questions (which have prob been answered a million times so i apologise)

    1) cant eat lamb……can i swap that out for chicken?
    I know it says no substitutes but the lamb is a big concern!!

    2) if there isn’t a stated amount does that mean as much of it as you want?

    I am already on day 4 and I’m 2lb down on the 900 calorie a day diet but i’m finding it tough and i’m out for lunch the next two days :(

    Thanks in advance. Any advice would be appreciated too. I have ZERO willpower when it comes to food :(

      Don’t think you can substitute anything. Think of it as additional lbs bonus for not eating that item. 34lbs in 28days is a toughie. Even when I did the mastercleanse which was total starvation for the entire month, I only lost about 30lbs.

      Well there’s nothing we can’t achieve if we are determined so do your best and we’ll see how you get on.

      I don’t think so as I think that’s one of the main things to the diet. I don’t like tomatoes at all so not having them or celery or spinach. I might be wrong but on other threads that’s what iv read, I don’t mind grapefruit but trying to drink the juice with bits in is yuk :( good luck with your diet I’m on day 2 and already nearly 4lbs lighter

    Hi hun, to keep you posted, On day 1 I lost 3lb then everyday after that I lost 2lb, have lost 11lb altogether which is fantastic! But unfortunately didn’t lose anything yesterday (day 6) which is annoying cos I’m a pizza chef and I resisted eating! Just drank water. It’s Mother’s Day today so I’m half thinking of leaving it here and starting again next week. 11lbs in a week is still great, much more than you could lose on any other diet so I’m happy with that.     I’ve been on this diet for 6 days, my 7th day today. After day 5 altogether I lost 11lbs, weighed my self after day 6 and still at 11lbs?? I’ve been doing really well and not snacking has been the hardest for me, seeing 2lbs drop off every morning is what keeps me going as it suddenly all seems worth it. But today’s Mother’s Day and my mother in law is taking me kids n hubby out for a meal to celebrate, it’s my 2nd Mother’s Day with my daughter but my 1st with my son. The only thing making me say “I’ll eat before I go” is knowing that in the morning I’ll know it’s worth it.. But now I haven’t lost that 2lbs I’m wondering what if I’m really good today and don’t lose anything again? Then I’ve just like tortured myself on mothers day… (I really like food.) please someone reply ASAP they’re coming at 12 x

        Great! Weigh yourself in the morning before breakfast you may have lost more, that’s when I weigh myself =) it helps if you drink 2ltr of water a day and excercise, I do the ab challenge and squat challenge. Grapefruit juice helps too. I was going to the toilet a lot on the first day too so it must be normal. Good luck, keep up the good work and keep us posted! x

            The not snacking was the hardest part for me, the only thing that got me through was thinking about stepping on the scales the next morning and imagining myself on a beach in a bikini the way I am now when it could be when I’m skinny and it all depends on if I have that snack. I’ve finished my first week now so trying to eat healthily til I start again next Monday x

            How much do you weigh now if you don’t mind me asking? I was 15st 3lb when I started monday I’m now 14st 6lb. I need to be 11st to not be classed as obese so aiming for that and any less is a bonus. I did feel more tired but the next day I felt healthier, more awake and generally happier in myself. After 3/4 days I could tell a difference in my weight and that’s always a perk! Helps drive you to carry on x

            Well just think, by the end of this week you’ll only have to lose 4 stone, then 2 weeks after you’ll only have to lose 3.. Once you start this diet and get past the first day you get so much determination that you’re going to finish what you’ve started and after the first week you think “wow, that wasn’t so hard. I don’t want to wait a week I want to do it again now.” I’ve only been off it a day and struggling a little but I’m determined after today I’m gunna eat healthy, maybe slimming world? But I’d definitely recommend exercising hun I do sit ups, crunches and squats and it’s working wonders! Keep me updated on your progress hun I’m always here to help if you feel like you’re struggling. But I know you will do it. We’ll show them! xx

    Hi. I bin doing this diet for last couple of weeks. So far have lost 1.5 stones. Feeling good. Bin cheating couple times. I’m working in restaurant and it’s bit hard to say no to all food. First week I done strictly but now I take some things out of diet and put something from my menu. Trying not to snack between meals. All together I’m very happy with this diet.     I am starting this diet today, I am currently around 15 stone after having children and about 5 ft 6″ so have a high BMI and am obese. I need to lose 4 stone to not be obese so I’m hoping in maybe 3 months I should get to my goal weight.
    Feeling optimistic and can’t wait to get started! Will keep everyone posted!
    Also because of having children I want to tone up as well as lose weight, will doing ab challenge and squats be ok to do with this diet?

      After the first day I’ve already lost 3lb! Looking forward to seeing how much I’ll lose after a week. If anyone’s hesitant on doing this diet I can honestly say that you feel a lot healthier and more alert, I feel generally happier just after one day. Craving snacks is hard but concentrate on the end goal and you’ll be proud of yourself for not giving in to temptation. I’ll give it another couple days and post again with my results.

    I did this diet 2 years ago, I lost a stone and didn’t gain any weight back. Now I just have low carbs, sugar and fat and I still haven’t gain anything back. Just keep to healthy eating and exercise and u will be fine.

    Not wishing to put a dampener on this but it’s quite dangerous to not allow a sub for grapefruit, especially at breakfast, as there are certain medications where grapefruit is a big no-no as it affects those meds. This diet is, therefore, not for everyone and shouldn’t be embarked upon if you’re on meds without checking with GP/pharmacist first.

      It is very unusual for you to have lost no weight at all. Salt does have a tendency to slow down your metabolism, however, as you have mentioned that you have only used a small amount I very much doubt this has had any effect on your results at all.

    I started this diet. It wasn’t suitable to do it for a full week. I have decided to do it for four days and eat normal for three. The first week I lost 4lbs. I am in to my second week now and will weigh on Monday. The only change I made was omitting the celery. I also had a tiny pinch of salt on the tomatoes. I am finding it great. No eating between meals was really difficult at first but I have got used to it. I am also drinking up to 6 or more pints of water a day.       Leaving out the chicken should not pose too much of a problem for you but we would advise that you stick to 3 meals per day if you can, even if you replace meals with chicken with meals without such as 2 hard boiled eggs and salad (day 2).

    Hello :) I’m on day 2 and unfortunately I started my period this morning. I’ve been extremely light headed, and of course with the cravings, I ended up having 2 handfuls of peanuts and raisins.     Looking closely at this diet, it reminded me so much of the Dr. Tarnower Scarsdale diet of the 1970’s. Just with more eggs lol.Seriously though, the diet looks good for the allotted time, but cholesterol level would be high, surely?

    I had done this diet on a week on week off basis for a period of 4 months end of last year I lost roughly 20kg the weeks I would substitute or change something when I was feeling lazy or added a bit of herbs or salt or pepper I would not lose as much as the weeks I strictly stuck to it the weeks I was not doing the diet I was still eating sensibly just eating more dairy in my meals. I did not put the weight back on straight away it stayed off for a couple of months until I lost motivation to keep out the bad junk food then I did put on 6 kgs over a period of 6 months but like I said my fault for getting lazy and going back to drinking soft drink everyday and getting take out food for lunch rather than buying healthier options. Throughout my time on the diet I tried to excercise but it didn’t last longer then a week so you don’t really need to excercise to lose weight on this diet but probably is recommended if you don’t want loose skin if you are a bigger person. As I realised I lost my way I started back on the diet 3 days ago and already lost 3kg. If you can stick to it and once you decide to stop it still eat decently it is a great awesome and effective diet.

      This diet is perfectly safe Amber however after the 7 days we would always recommend a break of a week before commencing again, should you wish to do so.

      The eggs should be eaten with the yolk & the salad should consist of lettuce, tomato and celery only.

      Yes you certainly can work out whilst following this diet, obviously if you start to feel light headed etc due to lack of energy (calories) then try to tone down the exercise slightly and see how you get on. You should see results within the first few days however everyone is different.

    Hi I have done this diet a few years ago like 22yrs ago in my teens! I was massive, dress size 24 yes 24!!! in clothes…funny anuff my gran give my this diet on paper said docters give it to a family friend of of ours that needed to lose weight fast for health reasons?
    Yeah at that stage I was desperate to try any thing I was fat n depressed an could not fit into anything!! SO I was over the moon when I got this…I gave it a go and in a month wow I lost so much weight!!! I looked an felt amazing!! In total i went down to a size 12 it really changed my life and the way i ate ( did exercise like every other day but as I said I was like 16yrs then all bones was in good working order lol!)

    I did this diet starting on 26th July and lost 8lbs. I’d been on a strict diet (1000 calories per day limit) since 7 July, and was using this to give me a boost. Between 7 July and 5 August I lost 21 lbs. I’ve been away on holiday since then though and eating and drinking all the wrong things, so have put 8lbs back on! Started this diet again today so hope to lose the holiday weight in a week, and get back on track for my long-term goal (74lbs by Christmas). Love this diet though, it really works and I felt great on it, will hopefully get a boost from it again this week!

    I have lost 9 lbs after 7 days. I exercised on 4 out of 7 days. I have 20 lb to lose now so i would like to lose it a lot slower. I will keep exercising and aim to eat healthy aiming for 1500 calories daily from now on. I will continue to use the salad from this diet as i think the celery and tomatoes filled me up.

      Id carry on . It doesn’t have to be perfect. It will only cost u a few ounces of weight. I succumbed to a few spoons of sweecorn and still lost weight.

      Sorry im not sure why . I found I didnt lose much on a day when I wasnt drinking much. I weighed myself every morning in the same clothes and the weight was flying off me everyday.

    Hi. I am on day 4 and this morning I had lost 5lbs already. I have not had the steak or lamb chops as i didn’t have any in the fridge.As a substitute, I just had one and a half smoked mackerel fillets grilled. I squeezed some grapefruit juice on the salad and it tasted great. I have managed to jog first thing in the morning on 3 out of the 4 days that Ive been on this diet. Ive just had the day 4 lunch of fresh fruit and that was amazing, banana never tasted so good. I will give an update after day 7. keep drinking cold water …..it makes this diet easy. You can do it!!

    Hi peeps I was very sceptical about this diet but decided to give it a try though. I did exactly as the diet says and finished day 5 with a loss of 4.6kg. I believe I could have done better but had a hectic week at work and had very little time for exercise so YES this diet works!!!!! Costs discipline but if you’re serious bout shedding the weight, I can be done. Good luck

      I don’t think so. sausages have a lot of fat , even the low fat ones and things like breadcrumbs are added to them.

    This diet is great, I did the full 7 days previously & lost 6lbs. This time I’m only doing 5 days due to family commitments but I’m on day 4 & I’ve lost 3lbs so far. I won’t lie, its quite tough for me towards the end of the diet but I’m staying strong! I only wanted to lose 11lbs in total so I’ll have a week off & then do it again. Good luck everyone!

    Its my 3rd day, I’ve lost 4lb. I did have mushrooms with my steak last night so a little cheat, and a handful of granola. Maybe without these cheats I would have shed 5Lb..I will keep you posted. It is hard, but the quick results make it all worthwhile. x

    I’m sorry but why would anyone put themselves through this? A basic calorie controlled diet where you can eat what you want as long as it’s within your calories is not only safer, but more enjoyable. You will most likely find you can still lose up to 6 – 8LB in your first week too. The reason this guarantees such a big loss is the fact you will be eating way too few calories which is dangerous for your health

      Day 3. No weight loss today. Going to stick it out as when I previously did this diet I lost 8lb. And lost a further 2lb the next week by following weight watchers style diet. So far I have exercised on Day 1 and Today Day 3 also.

      Day 4 Lost further 2lb that’s 4lb in total. Day 4 is the hardest as nothing substantial to eat But managed by keeping really busy and drank lots of water.

      Nope. Its the acidity of the grapefruit that reacts with the egg & other foods to have the drastic weight loss. Try pink grapefruit. Just like oranges.

    Hi, I have just finished doing a week of this diet and I have lost 6lb (I am not too much over my ideal weight, perhaps a half stone now) I found it quite easy to do, fortunatley I like eggs. I added a smidge of Balsamic vinegar to the salads as they got a bit dull. I am very pleased, I am going to come off it and eat healthily for a week then plan to go back on it the week after. I stuck to it though, I did not deviate at all .

    HELP… I’m starting today and am a bit confused…what’s the difference between the above diet and James Duncans? These are the differences I’ve noticed.

    Day 2 the same but toast too for lunch
    day 3 lunch fresh fruit not 2 boiled eggs and salad
    day 4 breakfast toast no poached eggs, dinner 2 eggs not lamb
    day 5 Breakfast toast no poached eggs lunch fruit not eggs
    day 6 Breakfast grapefruit juice no boiled egg

    so quite a lot of differences…..which one is correct?

      i would not recommend this diet for a teen they need proper nutrients ever day and should be encouraged to exercise rather than diet

    Hi there – Great to hear you are doing so well and have lost nearly half a stone in 4 days ! I am really struggling as on day 2 and stupidly went for a run at lunchtime (and did Zumba last night) and literally feel like I’ll pass out with the lack of food/carbs ! but I want to stick with it. I may stop after 3/4 days but will see the results first. I had only lost 1lb this morning but am hoping to see greater results tomorrow morning… I too am doing it in preparation for a holiday !

I will have a 3day break after the 7 days then go back on it I found yesterday that my energy levels dropped and I was asleep by 8.30 and woke at 7 this morning.its hard for the first 2 days but im sticking to it as the diet says and not cheating at all which is a first for me.I have 2 1/2 stone to loose and am 4lb down already :-)

      you REALLY should leave it for 3-4 weeks. 2 at the very least. its a type of starving and you will be starving yourself if you dont leave a couple of weeks between each diet week.

    Hi just wanted to let u know that I have lost 1st 4lb last week, had weekend free then started again this week. I gave up smoking last year and gained 2 stone so this diet has really helped. Its so easy to do and I have added Balsamic vinegar to my salad as I was finding it so bland (1xteaspoon). I have also only drank grapefruit juice and green tea with the odd glass of water (as I find that bland too ;) ….so anyone who’s struggling a bit stick with it as it really does work xx

    It is so inspiring to see so many positive results. I have a question. I am living in the southern region and a vegetarian. There are Fry’s vegetable meat free spiced burgers, meatless burgers etc available. Could I substitute one of them for chicken, fish, steak or lamb chops. For ex. Each Asian spiced burger has about 14.08 protein. Kindly let me know so that I could start with it immediately….

    I am on day 5 of this diet & cannot wait for it to end! i have tried many diets but have never felt so hungry on this one… not being able to snack inbetween meals on raw veg or fruit is hard.I weighed myself on day 2 & had lost 4lbs which has given me the incentive to carry it on. I have had one cheat & that was lowfat dressing on my salad. The diet is bland & boring, dont think i will be trying this one again :-(

      Hi Susie yes my first week I lost 1st 4lb had a 2 day break and started again this week. Just got on scales and have only lost 2lbs so far however I have just recovered from a broken leg so am walking 3x a day (dog sitting as helped here) so am thinking maybe its the muscle build up as muscle weighs more than fat……

    I am 2nd time on this diet and this is my 5th day today.
    I have lost some weight but let me tell you i feel tired, feel aches in my legs as mine is a computer sitting job and this time i also felt fever yesterday.
    I feel like there is a calcium deficiency caused by this diet as my teeth are also bleeding when i brush. No milk is allowed and there are no effective sources of calcium in this diet. Please suggest something which i can have for calcium intake.
    Everybody please post the side effects and remedies as well to help others. Not just how much lbs you lost.

    I am on day two of this diet and unfortunately I have started my period today and I went crazy. I felt as if I had no sugar in my body so I ended up stuffing my face with like 10 biscuits :( should I wait for my period to finish and start again? Should I start day 1 AGAIN tomorrow? Or should I just continue where I have left off like normal and try to stick the next few days out? It’s just today that has put me out due to the cravings and stuff. I am so angry at myself.

    Lost 11 lbs in total on this diet over the 7 days, with 4 of those days working night shifts and being really tempted to cheat but I stayed strong. Might go back to this diet every now and then just to keep myself in check.

            You’re doing great, and if you feel happy about yourself, that’s the main thing. I guess if you went onto the diet again in a few weeks you would continue to lose weight, but maybe not at the same rate. I’ve not tried doing the egg diet again, as I have changed my eating habits, smaller portions, healthier options…but still feeling good. Good luck and keep up the amazing work

    I love the idea of this diet and although i don’t like steak or lamb, it seems worth eating it. So ive tried this twice before and only got to day 2 before giving up, both times i lost the same 7lbs (as it goes straight back on). This time i have powered through the seven days, i feel great only i lost those 7lbs in the first two days again then day 3 i lost 0.2lbs and then day 4 came and i put 2lbs on and remained the same till the end…good but seems like day one and two and the only days that actually loose weight, for me at least.

      It makes no different how you cook the egg just be careful what you are adding to it. i.e if you scramble do so with water not milk and if you want to fry I would advise you dry fry rather than using any kind of oil

      We would advise that you stick to the diet as stated for optimum results however 1 egg should be fine. 2 small pieces of haddock are fine, as long as they are small. The chicken is only unlimited on day 1 not on any of the other days.

    We always advise you go for the actual fruit rather than the juice however if you cannot stomach the fruit do go for 100% concentrate, I wouldn’t imagine 1 cup of non concentrate juice would have any affect on your end result. Having the tomatoes hot or cold will have no affect on your end result therefore I would advise you leave them in the diet. In terms of your weight loss 7lbs is great, everyone is different meaning not everyone will get the same results.       As mentioned below, don’t be disheartened, 7lbs is fantastic, should you choose to follow this diet again try to up your intake of water, we would advise you have no more than 3 glasses of grapefruit juice per day and try to eat a little of the fruit if you can. Uncooked or cooked tomatoes will make no difference to your end result at all.

    Lamb is very hard to find in my area. I can find organic lamb patties with nothing but lamb in it but it isn’t a lamb chop or steak. Will this still work? Chemically I mean.

    Hi, I’m starting this diet on Monday is there a size limit for the steak as it says grilled steak but no quantity. I’ve been following another diet and lost 5 stone already but want to lose a stone or so more. I can eat unlimited quantities of chicken and steak on that so was wondering if I need to get smaller pieces.

    Halfway through day four……..breakfast this morning was welcomed. I have found that mid-afternoon is when I get slightly lightheaded. However I find a glass of grapefruit juice seems to quash this very well. Each day I have added one hour’s worth of walking nothing fancy, just a little bit more than a stroll a good brisk walk just for an hour and that seems to be helping. I can definitely see a difference in my shape watch this space for more details. Looking forward to my supper this evening grilled chops celery and cucumber, who ever thought that food could taste so good without all the dressings? The thought last night of lamb without mint sauce horrified me but it was great!!!! Will post tonight again hope you’re enjoying reading this……… :-)

    Ok, well it’s day three!!!! Was ready for my breakfast, lunch was enjoyable……a sprinkle of black pepper really goes well with the egg and salad mix!!! Off to buy my lamb chops for tonight. Drinking plenty of water, limiting my coffee, and to crush that sweet craving at night, a glass of grapefruit juice works well. So tempted to hop on the scales……but gonna hold off till Monday!

    Hey I’m getting married April 20th :) but what makes it harder for me isi have a 12 week old bubba so got loads of weight to loose :( iv done this diet before, you always have a good weight loss put you put it back on easily. I’m starting tomoro as its only 8 weeks to go! And I need to lose 4 stone if I can! Been in hospital for 10 days too so been comfort eating. I’m unable to use the gym or excerise really due to being in hospital so its a nightmare! Wish you the best of luck!

    Hi I started 4 days ago, Weighed myself on the 3rd morning and a 5lb loss so hopefully if I stick strictly to this should see the stone fall off by 7th day, also I do loads of walking I just go out walking if I’m feeling hungry earlier then planned, I swapped grapefruit for orange since I can’t stand them, really pleased with the weight loss so far, hope though my weight loss will stay a loss on my days break from dieting, do I eat a few carbs and drink some dairy on the break days???

    ok done this before xmas and just done for mon to thur and lost 11lbs. didnt do the fri and weekend as i enjoy a few wines etc at weekend. just done it this week not as good tho still 6lbs from mon to thurs morning. havent had as much water id say plus my chicken i seasoned with chilli and garlic salt. didnt steak to lamb as dont like it so had chicken instead. so all in all 3 full days 6lb lost. mon morn was 1313 thur morn 13 6 . would love to stick it for 7 days to see results tho enjoy my weekends and starving on this one i find. do gym and sports so no carbs making me weak. other than that certainly works for me….

    Its day 5 and from 10’2 I’ve gone down to 9’8 … I’m hungry and not gonna deny its hard but seeing the visual results is what’s helping me pull through and hopefully keep it off.
    When I complete this week I will be going on to the 5:2 diet so I’m using the chemical diet as the start up so I can eat better next week bar two days in the week.
    So happy to be getting back to my usual 9 stone weight as 10’2 Is my most heavy

Yesterday 10’2 and today 9’12 … I know it’s water that’s been lost … But makes me feel good haha! .. The steak tonight (grilled) was amazing ..     So… I started this diet today and I’ve realised by reading the menu the 1st day should be the most tough day with the unexciting menu… I see the menu gets better which is fab although after reading people’s experiences the toughest days are roughly the 3rd and 4th day stamina wise… I’m determined to stick at it even though I’ve finished my egg dinner and my stomach is still eating itself .. Ha!

    Hi just about to start the diet but I work nights! What time do recommend I eat each meal as I don’t particularly like the idea of eating steak and salad at 7 in the morning before going to bed! Shall I switch the meal around or stick to the plan, meaning I wake up in the evening eat eggs and grapefruit and then roast chicken around midnight and then eat the steak before going to bed? Or, shall I eat steak in the evening when I wake and then eggs in the morning before bed??
