Suzanne Shaw loses 11 lbs in 6 weeks
Emmerdale actress Suzanne Shaw has lost an impressive 11 lb in just six weeks through making a number of lifestyle changes.

The former Hear'Say singer said that she piled on the pounds after joining the soap because there was always a catering truck on hand.

"I went from dancing on stage in Chicago seven times a week to eating stodgy food all day to get me through 12-hour days on set on Emmerdale," she explained to Closer magazine.

The 29-year-old adopted a healthy diet and a new exercise regime in order to drop a dress size in a month and a half.

She told the magazine that she has been eating low-fat, high-energy foods like tomato soup, wheat-free muesli and grilled chicken salads.

As for exercise, she has been working out four times a week either at the gym or at home, doing fat burning sessions of skipping and circuit training as well as toning activities such as sit -ups and push-ups.

Two studies published recently in the Journal of the American Medical Association revealed that intensive lifestyle intervention programmes that incorporate healthy eating and exercise are successful in helping obese people to lose weight.
