Jenna Dewan Tatum reveals secrets of 33lb weight loss
In an interview with US magazine last week, Jenna Dewan Tatum revealed the secrets of her rapid 33lb weight loss – a vegan diet and daily workouts.
Jenna Dewan Tatum’s pregnancy regime
Jenna lost 33lb in just seven weeks after giving birth to daughter Everly in June 2013. She reveals now that the secret to her post-baby weight loss was staying active and watching her diet while pregnant.
“The second I found out I was pregnant, I called my trainer Jen Johnson. We found areas we wanted to target: arms and legs. I wanted to keep the muscles alive. Working out kept me sane. I would feel a burst of energy and all my hormones would regulate.”
“I stayed in shape throughout my pregnancy. I was working out almost every single day or walking or hiking.”
Jenna has been vegetarian since the age of 13, and the top priority during her pregnancy was a healthy diet.
“I think a lot of women find out they’re pregnant and are like ‘Let’s go crazy and eat ice cream every day!’ To me, it was, ‘I’m growing a human being, and I want to give this little soul the best nutrition I can.'”
Jenna Dewan Tatum’s vegan diet
Jenna’s daily vegan diet includes lots of fresh vegetables, oatmeal, green salads with chopped up veggie burger, and vegan enchiladas.
Jenna Dewan Tatum’s exercise workouts
Jenna works out with personal trainer Jen Johnson for 90 minutes a day, four days a week. She also adds cardio dance workouts, hiking, and strength training on her own. Jenna tries to incorporate her daughter into her daily exercise routine too.
“When I’m rocking Everly to sleep, I do lunges across the nursery, squats, or calf raises. Suddenly 45 minutes have gone by, she’s asleep and I got a little workout!”
Luckiest woman ever?
Jenna says that her husband, actor Channing Tatum, is an amazing partner and father.
“Channing’s like a big kid. He plays with her, and she laughs harder and smiles bigger than she does with anyone.”
