Healthy eating ‘does so much more than causing weight loss’

An actress and singer from Glasgow has claimed that eating more healthily has done so much more than help her to lose weight.

Janey Kirk, 45, said that she started to eat a more balanced diet when she was 30 and her dad was diagnosed with cancer.

She told the Daily Mirror that she stopped drinking alcohol and eating processed food but started taking vitamins and following an organic diet.

“Within weeks I had noticed a difference. Not only was my skin clearer, I lost a stone and had heaps of energy. It was amazing,” she said.

Janey told the newspaper that she has “stuck religiously” to her healthy routine and said it is the best thing she has ever done.

According to the NHS, those of a healthy weight are less likely to develop high blood pressure, diabetes, infertility and heart disease compared to those who are overweight or obese.
