Expert highlights simple ways to improve fitness
A number of simple exercise options are available to people who are looking to lose weight and improve their health, it is suggested.
Those aiming to get active do not necessarily have to spend long periods of time working out on fitness equipment like treadmills, Mike Rich, executive director of the Blood Pressure Association, has claimed.
Instead, he pointed out that “going for a brisk walk during your lunch hour, mowing the lawn or going for a bike ride all count towards the target”.
Meanwhile, the expert was on hand to offer diet-related advice to people who are concerned about their body.
In order to prevent their blood pressure from rising to an unhealthy level, Mr Rich feels that consumers should keep a close eye on the amount of sugar and salt they eat.
According to the Blood Pressure Association, it might be hard for people to recognise the fact that their blood pressure is high because it does not have any major symptoms.
