Dr Christian Jessen: Choose exercise according to weather  Women hoping to lose weight and keep it off will get the most out of their exercise regimes if they suit them to the weather, a medical expert has suggested

Dr Christian Jessen, of Channel 4's Supersize vs Superskinny and Embarrassing Bodies, said that people should choose the right exercise for the time of year.

The doctor said: "If it's really baking hot outside, obviously don't go for a run in the hot street – that's going to make you feel awful. Why not go for a swim?"

He went on to say that more people are inspired to exercise over the summer months as they want to look good in the more revealing clothes that they tend to wear when it is hot.

Dr Jessen's comments follow the publication of research commissioned by Yakult, which revealed that almost a quarter of Brits ditched their exercise regimes over the summer due to the heat.
