Diet expert: Protein and fibre can help control hunger
People looking to keep an eye on their weight by controlling their hunger should ensure they are eating enough fibre and protein, it has been suggested.
Commenting in an article published by CNN, Dr Melina Jampolis, an expert in the fields of diet and fitness, has revealed that the likes of wholegrain products and fruit both contain fibre, which may help to fill people up.
Meanwhile, foods that are high in protein, such as fish and lean pieces of meat, may also cut down on the sense of hunger that consumers feel.
In her article, Dr Jampolis commented: “Protein (lean meat, chicken, fish, eggs/egg whites, cottage cheese) … can help you feel more full by triggering the release of hormones in your gut and brain.”
